Band Fundraiser Forms & Money Due Friday

All students participating in the Band Fundraiser should turn in their order forms to Mrs. Holbrook or Ms. C by Friday, November 13.  All money collected should be placed in a school money envelope with the student's name and the words "Band Fundraiser" clearly written on the outside.  The money envelopes should be deposited in the safe located by the media center.

Please note that only CASH and MONEY ORDERS can be accepted for the fundraiser.

6th Grade Winter Concert Information

Information regarding the upcoming 6th Grade Winter Band Concert will be sent home this week!  Please be looking for the goldenrod paper!  A downloadable concert reminder and a permission to stay after school form are posted below.

7th & 8th Grade Winter Concert

This is a reminder that the 7th & 8th grade Winter Concert is Thursday, November 19 at 7:00 pm in the ECMS Gym.  8th grade students need to be in the gym ready to warmup at 6:15 pm and 7th grade should report to the band room by 6:30 pm. 

You can download the reminder notice below - these will be sent home November 6. Also, you can download the permission form to allow your student to stay after school on the day of the concert.  Please note that students staying after will need to bring their concert clothes to school along with a snack. Siblings of of band students are not allowed to stay after school with their brother or sister until the concert.

Wheeler Band & the WSB TV Band Competition

Wheeler Band is in the running in a WSB TV band competition to play at Turner Field next year.  You can help them win!  Click on the link below and watch the opening number of the band…. And it counts as a vote.  NOTE:  This video is very old and the performance, if you can believe it has even gotten better!

 

Click on the link below to go to the tournament page. Under FAN PLAZA BRACKET, click on #7 WHEELER. You will be taken to a page that shows our video of our opener. Every time the video is viewed it counts as a vote.

Band Fundraiser - Dates & Downloadable Order Form

The Music Department Fundraiser began on Wednesday, October 21!  All Band students are encouraged to participate.  All order forms and money are due November 13 and product pickup will take place on December 9 from 5:30-7:30 pm in out theatre.

Please see the attached document for the notes of the Stand Cheers for Middle School Night at Wheeler.  Remember...the notes are in concert pitch so you will have to transpose the notes for your instrument!

Wheeler Wildcat Band - Middle School Night - Friday, October 30

All 7th & 8th grade Band students are invited to the Wheeler Wildcat Band Middle School Night on Friday, October 30.  Information regarding this event was distributed in all band classes on Monday, October 5.  Students should have their permission slips (yellow) and their notarized medical form (green) turned in by Monday, October 12.  Students who do not turn these forms in on time may not get a t-shirt to commemorate the evening.

8th Grade Performance Evaluation - Monday, October 12

Starting Monday, October 12, the 8th grade students playing flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, saxophone and percussion will be administered a performance evaluation on the concert Eb scale (2 octaves).  All other students will be required to play the scale 1 octave.
